The Best Seafood Amongst the Best Seafood in North Myrtle Beach

Aug. 31 2021 News By Salty Frye's Golf Carts
Ok, now we know you’re here because you want to know where the best seafood is in the North Myrtle Beach area. But here’s the thing, there are simply too many wonderful restaurants in this area. No joke, we could easily pick any of about 25 restaurants for this list with confidence, so for the first time in the history of Salty Frye’s preeminent blog, we are going to punt and give you a 15-way tie.

We shall give a list of 15 of the best seafood restaurants for which visitors, locals, and the aficionados at Salty Frye’s have deemed worthy of this esteemed blog:

15.Boardwalk Billy’s

14.The Shack

13.Joe’s Bar and Grill

12.Hoskin’s Restaurant

11.Goodfellas Seafood Hut

10.Tidewater Grill

9.The Oyster Rock Waterfront Seafood

8.Martini

7.Flying Fish Public Market and Grill

6.Midtown Bistro

It’s time to pause and talk about what goes into such weighty decisions. We figure with the gravity of this blog it will likely sink or sail these establishments from here on out. So we take our responsibility with self-reverence. The decision is based on a few factors:

•Is seafood a priority or is it an afterthought

•What do patrons say on Yelp, TripAdvisor, Google, and Facebook

•Is there local support

•Do they have loyal, repeat customers

Although none of these next ones are deal breakers, they did sway our opinions:

•Atmosphere

•Local catch or premium selections

•Not part of a huge chain (Sorry Red Lobster’s garlic rolls. You’ve been wronged)

•Within golf cart range

Here are the top five in our objective opinion:

5. The Parson’s Table

With high ratings and top notch aesthetics, The Parson’s Table is tough to beat for a night out dining fine. It’s located in a renovated church, which makes it unique and intimate. They truly do everything well at Parson’s Table, but especially offering some of the best seafood in the North Myrtle Beach area. The only critique is that for these prices, other restaurants are just a touch better. For example, Parson’s Table has a vegetable plate for $22. Those veggies better be in jars saved from the Garden of Eden. (Most of their other plates are fairly priced).

4. Waterfront Seafood Shack

It may be surprising to see a casual establishment in the top 5, but here’s the deal. Waterfront is on the water with a great view and a fun atmosphere. They also serve fresh-as-fresh-can-be, local catch and dedicate themselves to providing the best seafood options on the Grand Strand. It’s the same shrimp and fish as most of the other restaurants anyway (Who cares if there’s styrofoam involved?), and it’s prepared with equal experience and excellence. Don’t sleep on Waterfront Seafood Shack.

3. Hurricane Colinz

With the highest patron ratings of any of the restaurants listed, Hurricane Colinz must be in the top 5. Eaters comment on the expertly prepared food paired with a humble, fun atmosphere – all of the quality of the big names, without the snazzy, jazzy feel. Colinz also has an ocean view and wins our BEST VALUE award that we just made up. The prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the fare.

2. Bistro 90

If you have a company credit card or perhaps need a tax write off, consider going to Bistro 90. We say this not because the grub is overpriced, but because you’re going to spend more than you normally would. Remember a minute ago how we said most shrimp is the same, so why pay more? Well here’s why we said “most.” Just as an example, Bistro 90 doesn’t have normal shrimp; they have Colossal U-10 shrimp. You’re going to pay more, but it’s worth it. Pair that with their unmatched assortment of drinks and their award-winning everything else, and you’ll be swept away into poverty. Fair warning.

1.SeaBlue Restaurant & Winebar

What to say about an establishment that has received awards from multiple national sources and continually sets the bar for luxury dining not just on the Grand Strand but on a larger scale. SeaBlueis “the finest restaurant on the Grand Strand,” as they say about themselves. They do a superb job of sourcing fresh, top-tier local food, including fresh, local seafood. It’s true that you’re paying extra for the chic, opulent dining experience, but don’t let that distract you from appreciating what creative, masterfully engineered dishes come from the kitchen at SeaBlue.

There it is…a list that will make every single restaurant on the Grand Strand angry at us, but we did it for you, dear friend and potential golf cart renter. That’s the kind of dedication we have. If you have a hankering for the best seafood in the North Myrtle Beach area, go anywhere on this list (each place has earned at least a 4.5 rating by patrons); but if you need a golf cart, contact Salty Frye’s. We have the best golf carts ready and waiting. Give us a chance to earn your business and we promise you won’t be disappointed!
